My aim with this Yoga Challenge is to become more attune with myself and the world around me – to become overall more mindful in my day-to-day life. Yoga in the past has helped to be be more mindful with my food choices by helping me reduce my overall stress level and thus not give into stress or binge eating – but that is another story altogether. I have been itching to do a 30 day yoga challenge and stumbled across Esther Ekhart’s September Yoga Challenge. This is exactly where September goals come in. None of the latter is happening when I am going through the day mindlessly snacking. Which kind of takes the joy out of eating altogether doesn’t it? Food is meant to be nourishing and bring us joy.

Especially since that when meal time does roll around I am often no longer hungry.

Not that this is the end of the world but I would much prefer to sit down and enjoy my meals instead of mindlessly snacking throughout the day. As in you are working on a paper or doing something around the house and all of the sudden your homemade jar of trail mix has somehow disappeared and that half that bar of dark chocolate suddenly seems to be missing. Over the past couple weeks I’ve noticed some of my clothing fitting a little more snug than usual and have also noticed myself slipping into old habits of mindless snacking.
